BEEN THERE. DO THAT.
THE BRITISH ARE COMING...A couple of weeks ago, I received an email from the guy who wrote that wonderful Wallpaper* Navigator article on Manila, Chris Moss. Apparently, the Guardian Unlimited, UK's leading paper, just started up a site called Been There. It's a web guide full of travellers tips on the best places to stay, restaurants to dine in, sites to see, and ways to navigate a city. Chris was even kind enough to help us out by kick starting a Manila section with a balanced (leaning towards the positive - god bless his soul) review of the city of our affections. So follow his lead, log on now, inundate the site with your tips and photos, and convince the rest of the Brits that Manila (and the Philippines) ain't so bad.

What were the pillows for? You know I had to look for Betty all the way down at the bottom.
My students were vividly entertained during our museum tour. Hope to join your other tours in the future.
All you had to do was click on the word Betty actually. All underlined words link to another site. it's the little cube with the chain on it on the control panel. the pillows were for the audience to sit on. I couldn't show the faces of the guests for some odd security reason. Glad you enjoyed the tour!
Just to say that not all of us agree that the Guardian is the UK's leading paper (just don't tell my wife I said so!).
Ok. I won't tell your wife. Yes. It's an overly liberal choice I must agree. Make that "one" of the UK's leading papers then.

an interesting link to a filipino tour guide's website offering walking tours of the city of madrid in spain. chas navarro had taught history at the university of the philippines in the 80s and moved to spain in the 90s for further studies at the universidad de salamanca. check it out: www.viajespana.com
