CARLOS RECOMMENDS!

Go to Mogwai this weekend. My friend Caliph8 is playing. The dude rocks. He did the soundtrack to my Soul Train event to Cubao X. This Saturday promises to have lots of good art and good music and good people hanging around Cubao X.

Check out Mogwai info here.
Thanks ProjectManila for the link.

Mr. Celdran,

I have to say that your blog has given me hope that Manila will soon be revitalized. Corny but true, "and hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay di makararating sa paroroonan". The only way for Manila or the Philippines for that matter is to look back and see what's missing. Fix what can be fixed. We have beautiful architecture, and it saddens me that these buildings are torn down to build these ugly massive generic high-rises. I very much appreciate your efforts for shedding a light of hope for the few heritage buildings that are still left standing, that one day, the government will see their beauty and recreate Manila's forgotten glory. It delights me that Luneta Hotel, which is my favorite building in Manila, is in the works for rehabilitation, and the Metropolitan Theatre as well. I also learned that a Japanese Group is offering the Philippines to clean up our dirty rivers just as they have done in the rivers in Japan. I hope that this comes to fruition. I'm worried about the Ninoy Aquino Airport Terminal 1 when the new one opens, I think it would be a nice airport when renovated and become a domestic airport instead. It's a beautiful building by Leandro Locsin, I hope they don't tear it down. Also, I wonder what they'll do to the Manila Post Office in the future?

I'm sorry for the long comment, I just have so many things in my head after reading most of your archived entries.

Thank you for doing what you're doing. You're an inspiration.

Tom

Just curious, I googled National Museum, Manila, and there was no legitimate website for it. All I got was this, http://members.tripod.com/philmuseum/index , which looks like an amateur website to me. Why can't they have a legitimate website so people can appreciate the National Museum even more. There are alot of talented web designers out there who would even do this for free or for cheap...
