AND NOW FOR A LITTLE BREAK...

I am sick once again. Apparently, my throat is in the worst shape it's ever been.  My vocal chords are shot to all hell and I am taking a regimen of mild steroids and anti-biotics to bring down the inflammation and fever. The doctor says it's exhaustion.  So, I'm not answering my phone, I'm going to drink ginger tea all day and I cancelled all tours in order to keep my mouth shut for the rest of the week.

And my apologies to all out there who were on my blogroll. I erased everyone on my blogroll. I am only checking blogs that are on my computer bookmarks.  Nothing personal.  I just don't like announcing to anyone who I read anymore.

Aww...poor thing. Yes, yes, get lots of rest. I was hoping we'd see each other at the beach this week, but right now you should just stay home and sleep, and load up on Vitamin C. Your voice is indispensible to your job, so that comes first.

Call me a tech-ignorant, but I didn't know that people could see if you subscribed to a blog. I'm on Bloglines -- does that mean all the blogs on my Bloglines can see that I read them?

Get well soon Carlos.

Please give us some accurate information on what happened with the trees in Plaza Roma. Apparently they were going to relocate them to Fort Santiango and they chopped them.

But on the first place: Why they wanted to relocate them? They provided good shade on hot days.

I am not going to make a comment on this. I hear the cutting was an accident. Overzealous subordinates.

AND frankly, the trees were haphazardly planted, mismatched, leaning and not historically accurate. They really should have been removed (not cut, I have to add - just moved).

The Administrator apologized for the mistake. Give the necessary fine. TWO years in jail is just stupid. A fine will be enough. And let the landscaping and the renovations continue.

Let's not look for heads to roll here. There is a lot of work to be done in Intramuros and lets not get caught up in the whining and bitching about these damned trees. SQUATTERS AND STARVING children behind Manila Cathedral should be given more attention than the trees in front of it.

At the end of the day, Bambi is really cleaning up Intramuros. So a mistake was made along the way, let's look at the bigger picture. Let's not throw out the whole plan because of this mistake that a subordinate made. Let her own up to this mistake and continue doing her job. Let's find a compromise to this situation and let;s move on,

But that's just me. Others may differ and want to see her burned at the stake over this. Oh well..

My throat usually gets into trouble when I'm in Manila. I attribute it to pollution. I tried "water melon frost" (in powder form) and this solved my problem. It's available in Chinese drugstores.

You need a balance of work and rest.

Being out there in Manila, need I be surprised at what had happened to you. Air pollution! All day long, you are inhaling it unfiltered!

Shouldn't you issue a HEPA mask to your customers while you're on tour?

Carlos,

I agree with you, although is not good to cut down these trees, first it was a mistake, second there are other more important matters to concentrate our attention.

Finally let's give the new administration some time and see what they achieve. Unless they do something outrageously bad, only then we could comment, critizise, suggest, etc.

I'm also sick I guess there's some kind of virus going around.

Cheers!

José Manuel.
