ART AND ARCHITECTURE AGO-GO...This is Carlos Celdran reporting from Frank Gehry's spanking new Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). Brave awe inspiring architecture. Still kinda unfinished but neverthless, amazing to behold.

this post reminds me of the recent decision of a developer in my neighborhood not to use frank gehry's designs of the proposed new york nets stadium and the atlantic yards which is supposed to be made up of several buildings. cost-cutting daw but it would be a bigger loss for new york if they decide to dispense with gehry's designs.

Toronto is the Art Capital of North America I think the entire city is Artsy. A nice and beautiful city but very cold in the winter.
I bet they have shops underground just like Montreal.
Hello, I am a lurker, but I gotta comment on your being in my 2nd hometown (Manila is the first of course).
Isn't the new AGO breathtaking?? A few days before visiting I came from the Tate Modern in London, thought it was so-so... then when I finally got to Gehry's AGO (missed the unveiling last year by a week!) I was blown away. The contemporary art section and the new Henry Moore room were by far my favourite museum experiences, ever.
Pls. say hi to Caroline, I didn't get to see her when I was in TO a few weeks ago. :) Saw Adele at Massey Hall with her hubby RJ and he said she was in Manila. (I used to be in the KPC before I left for Singapore)
