Oh my god, this is still with Congress?!
WTF?!
Let us make sure that Noynoy's vote for RH bill is not swayed by the Church lobby.
The Church is against the Reproductive Health bill because it condons condoms. Pun intended. Seriously, contraception and yes abortion, are very serious topics indeed. Poverty can be solved by population control that is the primary premise. I Disagree!
Poverty can be solved by education! Educate rural Pinoys that less children means less malnourished mouths, make education more affordable if one family has less children. It is not by having sex and controlling conception that one prunes down the population, myman! The debate and dilemma on contraception as a tool for population control is still raging but the answer is not to have as much sex and less babies. Pleease. It is about lifting up the poor couples to have a better quality of life for their offspring. It is a battle of the mind, to believe less is better, less is more. Instead, I challege the Church and the faithful-that is you and me- to advocate for educating couples to have less children. If they cannot afford to educate a few children, we should help them- rather than say they dont deserve to have any children they cant support. Im sure the formula (to sponsor poor students through school) will work. My father who stepped up as breadwinner of the family was helped by the parish priest of Malolos through high school when they were orphaned. Many rich patrons continue with this tradition. Henry Sy, Yuchengcos, etc. This to me is the Christian Pro Life solution. Not contraception. (Or pro-abortion compassion -which the RH Bill hints at by saying abortion-related medical emergencies will be treated in government hospitals.) RSR
RSR, contraception should be a choice in a free and democratic society. You can choose not to use it but don’t deny others that right. Don't be a dictator. Everyone should be educated on how to plan their families. The government and rich patrons can only do so much. Besides this idea of yours is not solving the problem, it is creating dependency which is also part of the problem. I say give the people the tools to be able to solve their own problems.
reply: with Philippine society 90 plus % Catholic, giving choice to use contraceptives will create a dilemma for the conscience of the faithful. Which to follow? Govt? Self? Cathecism which forbids? Yes it is an issue in progress the solution of which is not yet available. Contraception is taboo to the Church teaching-our common faith I assume...because the teaching is that man cannot interfere with the natural processes-contraception,abortion, artificial insemination or in vitro conception among others. Late Sen Kennedy held a slightly modified faith of allowing abortion in exceptional cases, I gathered. My question then for government: can we expect the 90% Catholics to follow where Ramos failed if the Phil. Church authorities do not cooperate? My suggestion to help more in education of the poor is not dependency. Fyi, the poor have educated themselves already. Most OFWs sponsor grandnephews through college. What with 8 MM OFs and 90 MM plus population? This means almost 1 in 5 (if we take away non-working pop) working Fils are OFWs! Slowly education is reaching the poor. Be happy! But the grads dont get jobs. "100,000 nursing grads every year and 12 thou get employed" I read. Not to worry. That reads smaller family sizes or better fed big families bec more Fils are educated! And wait! More educated means wiser votes! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas. Salamat sa Diyos. Amen. Have a nice day!
To the anonymous posters above:
Uuuy, nagsa-sharpest line na pala ang mga anti-RH.
Yes folks, we can see the stitching. Now go back to your cave and quit appropriating leftist propaganda methods!
Attention, this blogspot is only for Pro-RH Bill supporters
Anti-HB comments are not welcome.
Ok noted. No need for namecalling labelling. I had rather hoped for fair-minded discussion. Anyway, good luck on how to overcome the lobby of the CBCP, pro HBs. America pro-choice this country isnt. Bye. Gone to my cave. Be back next week. Happy Ramadan weekend.
wow so much for democracy, when it comes to RH bill supporters!
you papists are beyon comprehension. now go back to your jesusland, or i'll make you meet your jesus, six feet under.
putang ina niyong lahat.
Ahh basta, the Church has no business in messing up with my faloppian tube. It is my choice not someone else's choice.
RH bill sucks,go catholics!
Carlos,Baboy!!
The country maybe vastly catholic but people just don't mindlessly follow the church’s position on this subject. The majority of the middle class and the rich have smaller and planned families. The bottom line is - they can afford and have access to a variety of family planning methods. The church conveniently chooses to ignore this fact.
I agree with the Kantutengco Sisters.
I want the Church and politicans OUT of my reproductive system.
GIBO SUPPORTS RH
"I believe in freedom of informed choice by a person as to what he or she wants to do with his or her own body," Teodoro said.
He said he is against abortion but he is also against the enforced belief that contraception is bad.
"Contraception, under the Church doctrine, is wrong but it should not be the policy of the State to adopt the view of any particular religion. The state should be non-religious, non sectarian. It should give opportunities to all based on what they personally believe," Teodoro said.
The advocacy of the Church is very important but that is a matter for an individual conscience and own soul, that is not a matter of government enforcement, he added.
Seems like every policy has some hidden agenda these days, but im sure everyone here agrees that the UNplanned population control is completely unsustainable. If not reconciled now, it must be at some future time at significantly greater cost.
The problems with this bill? It drills down to one or two extremely polarized issues that people get murdered. Perhaps there's a need to take this bill at face value and appreciate it's economic and humanitarian benefits down the road.
Hi all! Im back from my cave! Yawn... lemmisee oh ya. RH. Wow. Noynoy is a co-author congratulations to your group. But just to share no p.i.m.or whatnot. The more developed the society, the less children couples have. Lifestyle changes, cost of city living, both spouses need to work, etc. these cause birth rates to decline. Nooobody wants children. So my suggestion is let' go for economic development. Not logical you say? Weve too many kids to feed and no food? Hmmmm. Well ponder on this: Ofw families split because the mother has to work overseas so she can feed the family. She probably wouldnt have left if she had less kids. Hmmmm. But there arent any jobs in the Phils anyway. So the problem of poverty isnt about too many people only. It's about jobs too. What's wrong with getting jobs overseas? Well the economic development aint in the Philippines. And how did the Pilippines get so poor? Corrupt government. M-A-R-C-O-S-R-A-M Coups supported by Fidel. E R A P. G M A. So to make up for lost time let's adopt harse measures. Contraceptives. Hmmmm.
HARSE measures? Nakalimutan mo yata pustiso mo. Go! Shoot! Back to the cave and get your pustiso!
