CARLOS RECOMMENDS!

THE CULTURAL CENTER OF PHILIPPINE COOL...
Have you been to the Cultural Center of the Philippines lately? If you haven't, I would pop on by just to check out their great new Gift Shop. Open since late last year, the new CCP gift shop is eons away from the concept of what you think, well, the gift shop of a government run national theater would be. Full of cool stuff like T-shirts, sculptures, bags, puppets, housewares, books on National artists, and CDs on Philippine music, the CCP Gift Shop also has a really cool cafe where you can order a hot cup of Barako or Civet poo (yup, the RARE civet poo) coffee along with your ChocNut candies. It's now the starting point of all my Imelda tours. Props to OJ and Don Salubayba for bringing the place back to life.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering if they also sell some DVDs from their own production- particularly the Noli Me Tangere 1992 series. I checked their site a while ago and they sell it on VHS for P10,000. I don't know if it's them or their site has just been long updated.

That really is an awesome shop! We were there in December and there was so much I wanted to pick up, but I was unprepared. I need to plan a trip back.
