Viva Jardin! Viva Madame Imelda Romualdez Marcos! Thanks Carlos.
Yes Viva Imelda Marcos for Cultural Center of the Philippines.
I have a question?
What building that was build by Imelda Marcos that burried construction workers and those bodies were never to be recovered?
The ghost of those victims haunts the famous building.
Actually that story is both true and untrue.
The Film Center (beside the Philippine Plaza) did collapse while under construction.
So yes, workers did die.
But no, the bodies were not left in the cement walls. They were removed and given proper burials.
Howie Severino did a documentary on I-witness on TV proving this story to be untrue.
Either way. The Film Center is a vanity project that never should have been done.
Since the Film Center is already there, Carlos, do you know if there are future plans for upgrading it? I give it to the Filipinos when it comes to vision (read: Imelda). The CCP complex (CCP in particular) was designed ahead of the Sydney Opera and now Singapore is catching up via Esplanade.
There are plans to rezone it and add outdoor theaters, an art museum, hotels and commercial centers.
But like anything else, it needs funding. And The government doesn't have it.
Ideally it should be part private enterprise. But there are not enough local investors who can do it or believe in it. Maybe if our constitution changes, we can allow foreign investment in to deal with it.
