OK. THIS WILL BE THE LAST...

Yes. I know. Enough with the Imelda posts already. But as the finale of Imelda Week here on Walk This Way, permit me to post these photos of myself, my wife, and Her Highness the High Hair during the Imelda Moment I had last weekend. Mucho mucho thanks to my friend, Daphne, for capturing it. I'll move onto another topic now...

Her Highness the High Hair...i really like that one :) har har har
oMG, you were improperly reverential to the point of being obsequious (?)!!! funny.
Nice pants, Carlos. :p
it's painful to think about imelda and her new business venture. yes, she had her own unforgivable sins as unforgivable as the sins of imperialism.
but what i see in this picture is the iron butterfly who, i think, is still an iron butterfly but without the glitter of a queen. i suppose that sounds like an insult. but if an iron butterfly really has an iron essense or a steely sense of dignity then i suppose imelda is still at it without the specter of imperialism on her side but simply a woman trying to assert something very illusive to the public eye.
resoundingly: don't cry for me filipinas. i am woman and human, even without your support. i am imelda.
Amazing !
Great moment, lucky you, to have met her.
SR
were you all eating from one plate?
I've enjoyed and can relate to your account of meting her - she has this surreal magnetism indeed. In my brushes with her, no matter how i tried to fight it, I always got sucked in.
Actually, the other day on the beach at my house in North Carolina I ran into and met the American son of Ferdinand Marcos' physician - he had some stories to tell! Its a small world.
Glad you enjoyed your US homecoming - next time come to DC (or Baltimore whee I'm moving - a re-emerging city much like Providence)
My brother-in-law got a great deal out of your tour a few months back!
thank you. because i'm sick of hearing about her new accessories line. what bugs me is that nobody's expressing their outrage about it. because really, imelda marcos selling jewelry is kinda like marie antoinette opening a cake shop.
well, she's a tourist attraction. filipinos have this love-hate thing with her.
you have to hand it to her. she is something.
now i feel bad i missed two imelda tours. i have been handcuffed to my work lately.
Neat! I'm so jealous! You've met an historical legend! ...with great hair! Great big hair! Awesome!
