Well, whaddayaknow? The Philippines has now lost the top spot. Apparently, we are NO longer Asia's most corrupt country. We are Asia's medium corrupt country. And all this improvement in just one year. Coolness.
Apparently Indonesia and Thailand have taken our crown. Ugh. Feel bad for Thailand. Not a good year for them so far. I wish them the best these coming months...

I think that this has less to do with the Philippines lessening corruption and more to do with corruption increasing in Thailand and Indonesia. My two cents.
I remember my old professor said we managed to get out of the top spot for most corrupt country in asia by bribing the people who compile the list.
Most corrupt, least corrupt. Bottomline is, are all Filipinos benefiting from any of this?
Sounds good but....
Did it change because something in the Philippines actually changed for the better or just because they complained loudly about it in reaction to inheriting the title in the first place. Or was it just someone elses turn to hold this rotating title and therefore have the opportunity to display the medal in their trophy case til next time.

Gosh. Why can't Filipinos look at the bright side anymore. All this cynicism can get frustrating. Yeesh. Why bother doing anything good for the country when Filipinos will just find a way to find something wrong with everything.
Can't we just say, "Oh cool. We're not as corrupt as last year" and celebrate it if even only for a moment.
Jeez.
And this "top corrupt" contest is ONLY about perception. We are NO LONGER percieved as most corrupt. That's it.
Will everyone stop being such a negative nelly and overanalyzing everything? Take it for what it is and work with it.

In America there is "Legal Corruption". But still people go to jail for doing it. There are more corruption in America than any other countries like the Philippines.
Please do not believe this list it full of crap.
America is the most corrupt nation on Earth. Combine Thailand, Indonisia and the Philippines. these countries doesn't even get close to the billions of dollars that politicians in USA stole from the American people.
They only see Newly Industrialized countries but the develop world it is rampant
Bangladesh is the most corrupt country. Check your facts.
